Eviser Staff Challenge!
The race is on, the challenge is set and the gloves are off!
We have challenged each other to get our names higher than the others on the major search engines (Google, Yahoo! and MSN Search).
Why are we doing this? Well, to achieve two aims:
To improve and show our search engine skills
Just to have a bit of office rivalry and fun really!
The Rules
We will each have the same amount of time to work on one specific page on the Eviser website. The winning page will be scored by the following points system:
10 Points for getting on page one for "Ben Ellis" or "Mark Campbell"
15 Points for getting on page one for "Ben Ellis" or "Mark Campbell" position 2-5
25 Points for getting on page one for "Ben Ellis" or "Mark Campbell" position 1
This will be applied to www.google.co.uk, www.msn.co.uk and uk.yahoo.com - without "quotation marks" and with no UK search ticked or filtered.
The competition will end 31st December 2007 - let the games begin!
Update! 4th September 2007
We have each spent 10 minutes creating our profile pages today. Mark's page can be found here, Ben's page can be found here - wish us luck!
Update! 6th September 2007
We have spent 20 minutes today optimisting our pages and doing off-site search engine optimisation (seo). Mark has taken first blood, he is currently position 5 for "Mark Campbell" on Google. This is a great achivment after just 2 days and 10 minutes work. Ben's page is fairing in 17th Position.
